What Are Squads?
A complete guide to team play, shared scoring, squad missions and Season competition.
Predicting on your own is fine. Predicting as part of a squad is where the game opens up: your picks start counting for something bigger than your own leaderboard position.
The short version
A Squad is a team of players who combine their predictions, points, and Bettor IQ into a single group score. Squads compete against other squads for tier standing each Season.
Why squads exist
A leaderboard of individuals is a solo game with a social skin. Squads turn it into something closer to fantasy sports: you are accountable to teammates, you can specialize, and overall standing depends on contribution from the group.
How squads work
- Form or join a squad. Start your own and invite friends, or join an existing one through the Squads page.
- Make individual predictions. Your picks still count toward your personal Leaderboard rank and Bettor IQ.
- Squad score aggregates member performance, weighted toward your most active predictors rather than a flat average.
- Squads climb or drop tiers each Season based on their standing relative to other squads.
What makes a strong squad
- • Active membership over sheer size — a smaller, consistently engaged squad can outperform a larger inactive roster.
- • A mix of playing styles — safe consistent picks and smart upset calls can work together.
- • Communication — squads that talk strategy before big matchdays consistently outperform ones that do not.
Squads and the rest of the platform
- • Badges: several achievements are squad-specific and earned by the group, not just individuals.
- • Missions: some weekly missions are squad missions, requiring collective completion.
- • Seasons: your squad’s tier at Season end determines where you start the next one.
