How Seasons Work
Resets, tiers, promotion, relegation and how every competitive cycle stays fresh.
If Bettor IQ measures how good you are and Squads measure who you play with, Seasons are the clock that keeps the whole competition moving. Seasons keep the game fresh and give everyone a real shot at climbing.
The short version
A Season is a fixed competitive period during which players and squads compete within a tier, and are promoted, held, or relegated based on their standing when it ends.
Why seasons exist
Without resets, an early leaderboard leader could sit untouchable at the top indefinitely. Seasons give every player and squad a recurring, meaningful shot at moving up — and keep the top of the leaderboard genuinely competitive instead of static.
How a Season works
- Compete within your current tier while your points and Bettor IQ accumulate for the duration of the Season.
- Standing at Season end determines movement: top performers are promoted, the middle band holds, and bottom performers are relegated.
- The board resets for the new Season, but your all-time Bettor IQ history and badges are not erased.
- Squads move as a unit, so collective standing determines whether the whole squad moves up or down together.
What determines your Season outcome
- • Total points accumulated within the tier during the Season
- • Bettor IQ trend, where consistent late-Season form can matter as much as an early lead
- • For squads: the weighted group score across the roster, not any single member’s performance
How to make the most of a Season
- • Do not coast on an early lead — tier movement is decided by where you finish, not where you peaked.
- • Watch your squad’s activity near Season close — a quiet final stretch can lose ground built earlier.
- • Use Missions to stay consistent — Season-long missions reward steady engagement over the full period.
